Find Out Who Hosts Any Website

Enter a website address and the checker tells you which company runs the server behind it, such as AWS, DigitalOcean, WP Engine or Shopify. It also shows whether a CDN like Cloudflare sits in front of the site, and which companies run the domain's DNS and email.

How the Hosting Checker Works

  1. IP addresses: it looks up the addresses the domain points to.
  2. Network owner: each address belongs to a network (an ASN) registered to a company. The checker matches that network to a hosting provider.
  3. Page headers: it loads the home page once and looks for signs that some hosts add, such as WP Engine, Kinsta, Vercel or Netlify headers.
  4. DNS and email: name servers show who runs the domain's DNS, and MX records show who handles its email.

Every answer comes with the evidence it's based on and a confidence level, so you can judge it yourself.

When the Host Is Hidden

Many sites sit behind a CDN such as Cloudflare, Fastly or Akamai. Visitors only ever connect to the CDN, so the real server's address is hidden from everyone. Other hosting checkers often just answer "Cloudflare". This checker says the host is hidden and lists clues instead, such as a host-specific header, labelled as hints rather than facts.

Registrar, Host, DNS and Email Are Different Things

  • Registrar: where the domain name is registered and renewed.
  • Web host: where the website's files and database run.
  • DNS provider: runs the name servers that point the domain to the host.
  • Email provider: handles the domain's email, such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.

They can all be one company or four different ones. To find out who hosts your own site and whether it's worth switching, read how to find out who hosts a website.
